The Frickley Herd Story & Heritage
Burnt Barns Farm has been in our family now for over 50 years. The farm covers over 180 acres of beautiful rolling grassland, encompassing the parishes of Ninfield, Catsfield and Ashburnham.
The farm is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty approx 3 miles west of the Abbey Town of Battle.
Burnt Barns Farm is a working grassland farm and home to The Frickley Herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cows.
The Frickley Herd was established in 2008 and now numbers 40 breeding cows and 80 followers to 18 months old
Our current Sire is Kingswood Wilfred KO74 - Winner of The South East Aberdeen Angus Society best Bull 2014)
What we Believe
All our cattle graze naturally
Nothing has been added to the feed, all natural ingrediients
We grow all of our own hay and haylage.
Feed oats are grown and rolled on a neighbours farm and straw is sourced as locally as possible.
All our heffers are sold for breeding
